Marriage Assistance


The objective of this scheme is to create a better future for the son / daughter of Tamil families belonging to low income group who go abroad for work and die there, get married at an approved age and prevent their family from getting stuck in debt due to unexpected additional expenses for marriage.

A sum of Rs.10,000/- for both male and female is given as Marriage Assistance to employees or their Son/Daughter who legally attain the age of marriage.

  1. This scheme is intended for the sons/daughters of Tamils who have died while work in abroad.

  2. Those who have passed the 10th grade examination conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu are eligible to apply and for Schedule Tribes studied up to the 5th grade is enough.

  3. The bridegroom must be 21 years old, and the bride must be 18 years old at the time of marriage.

  4. This scheme will be provided only for the first marriage.

  1. Marriage Invitation Original.

  2. School Transfer Certificate(TC) for both Bride and Groom attested by Government gazette officers

  3. The Receipt of the Marriage Hall / Temple / Register Marriage Certificate Xerox with Government gazette officers attestation.

  4. Aadhar card and Ration card Xerox with Government gazette officers attestation.

  5. Salary slip of the Employee.

  6. Labour Welfare Fund contribution Receipt Xerox.

  7. Name list of the paid Labour Welfare Fund.

  8. Bank passbook front page – 2 copy.

Rs.20,000/- will be given to the son/daughter of a Non-Resident Tamils family belonging to the lower income group who goes abroad for work and dies there.

The scholarship under this scheme will be paid directly into the beneficiary's bank account, for which beneficiary’s should open a bank account with any government recognized bank.

  1. It will be given to the children of Non-Resident Tamils who are registered with the Non-Resident Tamils Welfare Board and died in abroad (whose registration has not expired at the time of death).

  2. No more than two persons per family will be awarded the scholarship.

  3. If a person is found to have received scholarship through false statement / certificates, his scholarship will be canceled immediately and the scholarship paid will be refunded.

PDOT

Pre-Departure Orientation and Training is a mandatory program designed by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India for the migrants who travel to abroad for employment.

Why PDOT?

  • A program to teach Tamil to the children of Tamils ​​who have permanent citizenship in foreign countries.

  • To create an interest in learning Tamil among the younger generations​​who have acquired permanent citizenship abroad and settle there, a scheme is proposed to teach Tamil to children through the Tamil Virtual Academy.

  • Apart from that, incentives will be provided to teach Tamil in educational institutions and training for teachers teaching Tamil.

  • Tamilians all over the world can learn Tamil with proper pronunciation and grammar through Audio & Video classes. This service will be made especially for children to learn Tamil easily.

Where are the PDOTs going to be set up?

PDOT Centre set up in 7 Districts of Tamil Nadu i.e. Ramanathapuram, Pudukottai, Kanyakumari, Thanjavur, Perambalur, Sivagangai and Villupuram to train the Tamils going overseas and equip them for the challenges they face there, when they ​​migrate for education and employment.

Pre-Departure Orientation and Training is a mandatory program designed by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India for the migrants who travel to abroad for employment.

Why PDOT?

     It is for creating awareness and making the candidates understand about the challenges involved in migrating overseas for work.

  •  

     PDOT aims to educate the candidate on the culture; language, the local laws, weather conditions etc of the destination country which helps them to adjust to the new environment.

  •  

     PDOT centre campaigns regarding legal or regular migration and ensure safe, legal and proper migration of Non Resident Tamils,​​when they go abroad.
